Rifle Dueling Tree

This Dueling Tree is the epitome of what a Dueling Tree should be. At this point many people are probably wondering "what makes your Dueling Tree so special?" We're glad you asked!

From the ground up this Dueling Tree is far superior to other designs on the market. That isn't just sales pitch material, we mean it. We knew that the market was filled with dueling trees made from mild steel with AR500 paddles, but we also knew shooters needed something more. This market was hungry for a Dueling Tree that could handle anything from center fire pistols to calibers like 308 winchester. We started with the goal to create just that and it landed us here, to our Rifle Dueling Tree.

One of the first things we want to point out about our system that differentiates it entirely from other competitors is the fact that it comes armored up. No upgrade required. The deflector shield of the Rifle Dueling Tree is made from 1/4" AR500 steel, and is also angled forward to dispel fragmentation. The gussets are also 1/4" AR500 steel for longevity. The target paddles are made from a seriously strong 3/8” AR550 Steel! This means longer life, closer distance shooting, and an overall better value to our customer. The base is our signature 26" round base which keeps 360 degrees of contact with mother earth. It's kind of like a bear hug for the ground. We built it specifically to handle heavy rifle use, and it takes the beating like a champ! This is not a typical Dueling Tree that was labeled "rifle use". We specifically engineered this target to outperform and outlast every other dueling tree on the market. If your Dueling Tree uses mild steel for the upright it is not Rifle Rated. Period.

Also note that this system MUST be set up on leveled ground to remain the most stable. If ground is not level enough, we recommend purchasing tent stakes or something similar to stake through a few of the base holes for added support. Here is a breakdown of the paddle options.

-Option #1, Reduced Paddles: This is our recommended paddle size for most people. These paddles have a target area that measures 5" x 5". This is the smallest size paddle we offer and because of that it works really well with anything from centerfire pistols (9mm, .40 S&W, 45 ACP) to Light Rifle Calibers (.223/5.56 NATO, .300 blackout, 7.62x39). These paddles can be used with pistols at 10 yards. Our customers can enjoy their Light Rifle Calibers at 50 yards with these paddles when using proper ammunition.

-Option #2, 556 PaddlesThis is a paddle size that is slightly larger than the Reduced Paddles. The Target area measures 6" tall x 5" wide. We also beefed up a few areas of the paddle to add strength for high volume use. This paddle would be for customers who aren't shooting calibers like 9mm but are mostly shooting high volume 556, 300 blackout, 7.62 x 39 or calibers similar to those ballistics. These calibers can be used as close as 50 yards with proper ammunition. Pistol calibers will have a harder time rotating this size paddle. It is possible with good hits, but if you plan to do a lot of pistol shooting go for the reduced paddles. The other great aspect of these paddles is they can be used for 308 at distances of 100 yards or greater. If you are part of a SERT or SWAT sniper team and you will be doing very high volume 308 shooting, we recommend looking at option #3.

-Option #3, 308 Paddles: These are the big boy paddles. They are further reinforced with more material in key places and have a target face that measures 6" wide x 7" tall. The length from the pivot point is also much greater. These were all necessary steps to ensure the paddle was properly sized for calibers like 308. This paddle is ideal for high volume 308 or 6.5 creedmoor shooters who want to shoot on a Dueling Tree. Calibers like 300 win-mag can even be used at distances of 200 yards or more. As with all our Rifle Dueling Tree paddles, these are also made from 3/8" AR550 steel for an ultra long service life and added value to you. 308 and 6.5 creedmoor can be used at 100 yards and further. Shooting the Dueling Tree closer with these calibers won't hurt the AR550 steel, but it puts unnecessary stress on the system.

-Option #4, 22 LR Paddles: These are pretty self explanatory. They are drop in paddles for 22 LR. Made from 3/16" AR400 steel. The 22LR paddles are meant for 22LR only and can be used from pistols or rifles at 10 yards. Please note these are not rated for ANY center fire calibers. Use of center fire calibers on the 22LR paddles will cause damage. 22LR Paddles can be purchased here: Buy 22LR paddles

It can seem overwhelming, but it is really very simple and the paddle size depends on your needs. If you have any questions at all about which paddle style to purchase, simply email us at info@tatargets.com
